Fronted by Australian-born, Australian- and Israeli-raised Ohad Rein, Old Man River plays warm guitar-driven pop reminiscent of the Beatles, Beck, and George Harrison.
Rein first picked up the instrument at age 13, and after serving in the army, he moved to New York City, where he practiced his future trade by performing at the subway and parks. After traveling around India, the musician returned to Sydney, where he toured with 'Gelbison' and formed the group 'Nations by the River' w Nadav & Edo Kahn and Luke Steele from 'Empire of the Sun'. It was during this time spent with other bands that his own songs began to take shape, finding verses and melodies while in impromptu jam sessions. In 2007 he released his debut album 'Good Morning' (SONY), which reached top chart positions in Australia, Japan and Europe. 'Trust' (EMI) followed in 2010. The album was recorded in Sydney, Tel Aviv and Mumbai and mixed in LA. It featured an assembly of top Indian classical musicians guided by legendary 60's Indian cult producer Daman Sood. The 3rd studio album ILOVEYOUSORRYPLEASEFORGIVEMETHANKYOU was released in June 2018, an eclectic celebration box of audio delights. The Latest album 'Mid Life Crisis' was released July 2019 and signifies Old Man River's transformation into a 'one stop shop', as Rein took the helm over the entire production, recording and mixing process of the album.
