British pianist Martin Roscoe studied music at the Royal Manchester College of Music, where his teachers included Gordon Green and Marjorie Clementi.
Roscoe has performed as a soloist with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Hallé, the Northern Chamber Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Manchester Camerata, and the Royal Flanders Philharmonic Orchestra, and he has appeared with many prominent conductors, such as Simon Rattle, Mark Elder, Kent Nagano, Andrew Litton, Christoph von Dohnányi, Martyn Brabbins, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, and Mark Wigglesworth. He has played in a piano duo with Peter Donohoe, and he has performed chamber music with Tasmin Little, Emma Johnson, Steven Isserlis, Michael Collins, Steven Osborne, the Leopold String Trio, the Brodsky String Quartet, the Maggini String Quartet, the Cropper Welsh Roscoe Trio, and other notable ensembles. Roscoe has taught at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, and is professor of piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has also served as the artistic director of the Beverley Chamber Music Festival and the Ribble Valley International Piano Week. Roscoe records for Chandos, Hyperion, Naxos, ASV, and Deux-Elles, among other labels.
