Rave The Reqviem was founded in 2011 by songwriter and producer Filip Lönnqvist (The Prophet). The vision was to shape a hybrid of rock/metal and electronic music – such as industrial, dubstep and drum 'n' bass – with heavenly female vocals from his own mother Carola (The Holy Mother) sailing sweetly over epic choruses.
In 2014, Rave The Reqviem signed a record deal with DWA who released their genre-breaking self-titled debut album. A smash hit, swiftly accelerating to become both the fastest-selling and ultimately the best-selling debut album on DWA ever. In 2016, the 2nd album "The Gospel of Nil" further developed their sound and tread the fine line between industrial metal, heavy electronica and mainstream rock – and which in so doing supplied the band with a steady stream of further converts from more mainstream rock audiences. In 2017, The Holy Mother decided to leave the band and was succeeded by the new lead vocalist Jenny Fagerstrandh (The Seraph), who shortly thereafter entered the studio with the band. In 2018, Rave The Reqviem signed a new record deal with Out Of Line Music who released their 3rd album "FVNERAL [sic]". The album marks the so far highlight of their development, as it interlocks guitars and electronica with The Seraph's versatile rock voice to a well-fueled apparatus painting the epic element in its brightest colors. "FVNERAL [sic]" shines brighter than any RTR album ever has before.
