Super Smack makes neon rap bops. A breakout artist at the 2019 SXSW Nerdcore Days Festival, he gained notoriety for his high-energy live performances, clever songwriting, and nintendo-inspired fashion. That summer, he released his infectious single Sandra Bullock and opened for Mega Ran at Brooklyn Comic-Con. Just a few months later, he released his debut EP Neon Red while simultaneously co-headlining CRAZY SWITCH ASIANS-- a 16-city national tour with LEX the Lexicon Artist. His collaborators include Neku, Schaffer The Darklord, and Kadesh Flow. Earlier in his music career, he studied and performed with Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal as a member of the #BARS Cohort at The Public Theater.
Depending on the positional revolution of the planet Earth, Smack is based in New York City, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. A proud Filipino-American, he is a frequent guest in Asian-American concerts and showcases. His dance-narrative music video Choose, directed by Broadway veteran/his sister Catherine Ricafort, has received multiple awards and was selected for the 43rd Annual Asian-American International Film Festival.
Smack's sequel EP, Neon Blue, is coming Spring 2021.
