New EP Cards On The Table by singer songwriter HEBE is a deeply personal reflection of Hebe Vrijhof’s experiences with society, love and nature. The warm, at times melancholic, thoughtful and melodic sound of her songs show a wide mix of themes, giving a diverse portrait of her creative and colourful mind. Latest single and EP title song 'Cards On The Table' is a love song exploring the vulnerability and doubt that come with the early stages of a relationship. “The frightening moment you put your cards on the table, you hope the time is right to let your guard down, expose yourself and be loved and accepted.” Stating contemporaries James Blake, BANKS and Bon Iver, as well as iconic songwriters Paul Simon and Van Morrison as influences, HEBE employs a wide range of tones in order to find the balance between the melancholy and power in her tracks.
HEBE’s music gained attention by premiering through The 405, Noisey (Vice) and Keep it Underground and lead her to play at Dutch TV show Vrije Geluiden, Radio2, Tivoli Vredenburg, Patronaat and Theatre Festival De Parade. After being invited twice to perform solo in London at Metropolis Studios in 2017 and Camden Assembly 2018, HEBE returned for two UK tours and a Germany tour with her band. “HEBE isn’t ashamed of expressing her emotion.” - MUSIC WEEK “She straddles the line between the uplifting and the melancholy.” - EARMILK "..a free-thinking spirit who was driven from a young age." - CLASH MAGAZINE
