Aby Wolf grew up in rural northwestern Illinois, honing her ear for harmonies by singing along while her mother practiced Erik Satie songs on the piano.
Aside from those childhood practice sessions, Aby cites the rolling hills and idyllic countryside of her home land among her earliest creative influences, as well as Whitney Houston, 90’s Top 40 pop radio, Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, and the music machines of The House on The Rock in Spring Green, WI. At the age of 19, Aby moved to Minnesota and got involved in the thriving Minneapolis music community, collaborating with artists across the spectrum of hip hop, R&B, experimental weirdo electronic music, folk, rock, and jazz. Over the last decade, she has toured the world with rapper/singer Dessa of Doomtree, and has worked and collaborated with everyone from The New Standards and Chastity Brown to Prairie Fire Lady Choir and Brother Ali. She has released 4 stylistically diverse albums to critical acclaim, and has been named “Best Female Vocalist” and “Artist of the Year” by Minneapolis's City Pages.
