Ben's guitar playing is chronicled on classic Folkways/Smithsonian recordings like "Border Crossings," which was released in the early 1980s.
Before switching to steel strings -- Ben was known for his flamenco inspired playing on "Desert Moon" and "Desert Dreams," which both charted on Billboard. Ben's performances featured him on NPR and from the stages of Lincoln Center and Merkin Hall. Ben's nylon-guitar playing is also featured on a host of duo recordings with Native American flute player Jessita Reyes.
The double, steel-string guitar sound will be featured on Ben's upcoming releases: "On Love's Edge," the soundtrack for the film "Shadow Play" and his take on the viola caipira sound, "Unexpected Gauchos."
