TiZ’s first full-length project “No Hobby” quickly made an imprint on the streets of
Charlotte, NC, his former city. TiZ was getting coverage in the local press,
headlining’ shows during major city events, and packing out performances. “No Hobby” was even named one of Google Play’s “highest streamed independent downloads of 2013.” When most would have gone out “on top” TiZ wanted more.
Born Raymond Phillips, TiZ has overcome a lot of obstacles and hushed a lot of naysayers during his consistent climb. When he relocated to New York everything was against him. Moving from a small city with no label backing, no foreseeable investors or even a stable studio. Not one to shy away from a challenge, TiZ used his limited resources to make a way out of no way. Although it wasn’t easy, TiZ was determined to find his place in the New York music scene. His main focus was to continue to grow as an artist and stay true to his sound.
TiZ has shown time and time again that successes only comes to those who are prepared for the opportunities given to them, and he doesn’t plan to waste a single one.
