Rough-Brutal-Technoid. Three words to describe Consumer Junk’s universe.
2010 - Producer Gerwin van Ruiswijk settles the foundation of the band with the album Product which showcases uncompromising raw Electro with Techno&Dance influences, inspired by the excesses of our consumer society which creates a lot of “junk”.
2013 - A collaboration with the art group "Must We Unite" results in a successful EP with tracks inspired by their artworks. The main theme is the strength of the people overthrowing existing structures and regimes, questioning its rightfulness and consequences. Consequently, Marcel Verschoor from Must We Unite joins Consumer Junk, focusing on the lives shows visual experiences.
2014 - Consumer Junk becomes a full live act with Drummer Etienne Baegen and Niels Muijen on keyboards and guitars.
2015 - The album Pusher is released.
2018 - a new album is on the works. Keeping the electronic roots of Consumer Junk, but also assimilating the years of experience as a full live act, the songs see more progressions with chords, breaks and choruses yet keeping the Dance groove and Electro sounds. The themes are in the continuity of the previous works: consumerism, conflicts, uprising…
Niels Muijen parts ways with the band. The three remaining members recruit Yannick Wattiau on the guitars for a new sound and energy on stage.
2019 - The Gift of Aggression is released.
