After starting the band, they quickly became world-famous in their hometown. Which is a really small town just outside Stockholm… but still! Not too bad for four confused teens who grew up playing traditional music, but also loved Reggae, epic pop choruses and believed music could change the world?
Mixing their love for different genres, politics and their wish to convey their musical roots, they’ve been confusing music critics since 2010 (Oh yes!), but also built a dedicated following and audience, taking them on constant world tours through USA, Canada, Scandinavia, Europe and beyond.
With two albums released, hundreds of concerts and a handful really decent awards, they’ve established themselves as one of the most prominent acts in the Scandinavian folk music scene.
If you haven’t joined the Kolonien club/cult already – you probably should. If you want some brave, new folk music from Sweden. Or something like that…
