From street performing troubadour to alt-pop indie darling, the Danish artist, Favor, combines his 80s-vibing melodies with a punchy instrumentation, creating an emotional throwback sound with contemporary sophistication that has blogs and music magazines comparing him to The 1975, HAIM and Kindness.
Favor has built a loyal following with his extroverted live performance along with buzzed-about 2018 EP Lightweight for the Heavyhearted, which was given 5 star reviews from the Danish media. He is following up with the single Call My Name that has him flirting with the indie-disco genre. The new release is catching ears across the globe pulling Favor into the international indie-pop scene with praise from UK, US, Germany and Australia.
Favor is the alias of singer and songwriter, Jeppe Gade, who was born into a mixed musical family, growing up with his dad being a 70s folk-rock man and his mum being a worshipper of 80s pop ballads. After having followed his dad’s band on the road from the age of 11, the young artist starting writing his own music. In 2015 the young songwriter went on a self proclaimed world tour for two years as he played his way through the streets of New York, Rio and Sydney before finally meeting a producer in 2017 on an open mic night in London. Despite only hearing Favor performing on an acoustic guitar, he realized the captivating pop-craftsmanship in the songwriting and brought him back into the studio and the Copenhagen music scene
