In 2013, “Light for Dark” was recorded in Rosenthal’s apartment bedroom. “That album was personal. I had lost my dad unexpectedly to a stroke half way through the recording process and you can hear a lot of that come through. The ‘Light’ was my wife who carried me through everything. On ‘Timberland’, I’m singing about her while grieving on the verses. It was a pretty messed up time for me. You can definitely hear it on the album.”
In 2018, Rosenthal released “Morning Sundowner”, his third collaboration with Kuse. The album features guitarist Vincent Fournier and drummer Devon Forsythe of the Vancouver band Owlface.
Rosenthal says of the albums production, “I wanted the recordings to highlight the sound of the room. Our goal was to use the space as an instrument. Sonically, I wanted to have things be open and have depth and move, and I think we accomplished that.”
