Feeling restless and dissatisfied creatively upon the album's completion—the two years had seen her live a solitary life stuck in a sort of time trap of the songs she was working on—Belén returned to her academic studies, studying philosophy and traveling to Argentina to connect with her familial roots. She graduated from Boston University in 2013 and thereafter pursued different corporate jobs to make a living, ranging from social media marketing, to video production and sales.
After an almost five-year hiatus from music, Belén experienced an epiphany reading the book 'Mastery' by Robert Greene, and decided to return to her music career indefinitely. Putting action to words, she quickly assembled a band and became a local regular in different clubs throughout Boston. In 2017 she moved to New York City to record new music with DJ Afro and has since become a local staple at legendary clubs like Groove in the West Village.
