Gravity Noir is a British synth-pop band that was established in the early 1990s. The only permanent member since the founding of the band is singer and producer Patrick Knight.
Back in the 1990s, he performed as a Boy George live tribute act. In 1991 he got involved with a side project called Greater Than One (GTO short) and released a 12-inch single called 'Listen to the Rhythm Flow' , which became a worldwide success. It was then that the name Gravity Noir was used for the very first time. The early repertoire mainly consisted of covers of famous songs from the 80's. On 23 April 2011, a first official single called 'I've Got the Power' was released, under the name of "The Sisters of Divine Pleasure", featuring Patrick Knight as Drag queen "Titless Strangé". In 2016, Patrick Knight decided to use the original band's name Gravity Noir for all future productions. Hence the big come back of Gravity Noir in 2016. The power of Gravity Noir, is to offer their independent bandmembers the opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity individually. Andrew Williams joined the band in 2016 to take care of the graphic designs and also to derive his singing voice and talent with wind instruments for Gravity Noir's music projects. The female lead singer Ambrosia Dash, who already lent her voice for Patrick Knight's solo projects, has sung several songs since Gravity Noir's comeback. Gravity Noir are also well committed to charity and the LGBTQ community.
