All About Jazz named ROBYN SPANGLER's album SOMETHING COOL: THE BILLY BARNES SESSIONS one of best albums of the year by All About Jazz in 2017 and also won an EDDON Award.
PLAYBILL PICK and BroadwayWorld Award winner Robyn Spangler is known for her fresh and imaginative treatments of the Great American Songbook. Her growing maturity as an artist, Spangler is heralded for the abilities both as a storyteller and her ability to voice, convey and interpret. Her three recordings have addressed themes such as free spirit ("On A Liquid Afternoon" 2009), breaking barriers across musical genres ("Why I Love Linda Ronstadt" 2012), as well as paying tribute to the music of Billy Barnes (Something Cool: The Billy Barnes Sessions 2017) which featured saxophone and flute by Robert Kyle, bassist Tim Christensen, drummer Chris Jago and keyboardist Todd Schroeder. Spangler also has a self-penned single ("Second Wind" 2014) which is her #1 selling track. Once in a while there is a surprise ep release when inspiration hits.
Look for Robyn's holiday CD "Christmas Is" being released November 1, 2018. It features the timeless "It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas" a duet with Don Most of "Happy Days" fame. Also look for some original tunes and some fresh takes on the standards.
When not in the studio Spangler finds balance between recording, performing, traveling and living. twitter: @RobynSpangler
