Coby Brown is a composer, songwriter and recording artist based in Los Angeles. He wrote the music for IFC's “The Man Who Knew Infinity” a biopic of the Indian mathematical genius S.
K. Ramanujan, starring Jeremy Irons and Dev Patel and he recently completed the music for the PBS docuseries “Blue Sky Metropolis” which was part of PBS’s “Summer if Space”, timed to the 50 year anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing.
Coby emerged from a cancer diagnosis in 2008 with the full length Stars & Curses, which Performing Songwriter called “Awash with atmosphere… all shimmer and seduction,”. His song Your Luck Is Going to Change found its way into regular rotation on Sirius XM’s Coffeehouse and his single “Lived to Tell the Story” was used in the feature “Authors Anonymous”
He followed that up with 2013’s French Exit, which features guest turns from David Immergluck (Counting Crows, Camper Van Beethoven) and Michael Jerome (Richard Thompson, John Cale). His song “Hospital” was covered by Counting Crows on their 2102 covers record “Underwater Sunshine.”
Coby's songs have appeared in films including "Nothing But the Truth", “The River Why” and “Answers to Nothing", and many tv shows including most recently Showtime's Shameless and DC’s Titans.
His next single, Everything Looks Different To Me Now, comes out on Friday 2/7, and is the title track of his fourth full length album.
