Jaws of Love is the solo project of Los Angeles musician Kelcey Ayer, who rose to popularity as one of the singer/songwriters for indie rock outfit Local Natives.
The project took shape shortly after Local Natives wrapped up sessions for their 2016 LP, Sunlit Youth, when Ayer booked himself into the same studio the band had used and recorded an entire set of solo tracks in just a few days. His moody piano-driven ballads were all inspired by different aspects of love, and he christened the endeavor Jaws of Love. Naming his debut album after his dog, Ayer released Tasha Sits Close to the Piano in September 2017. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
