Since having children Avelia co-wrote, and performed in, the 2-woman show “Ifs, Buts & Babies” (sharing the Delights, Dilemmas & Disasters!).
“A beautiful, funny and poignant show with lots of laughs and real heart. Great songs too.” [Neil Foster, BBC Radio York]
Now those babies are significantly older, Avelia continues to write and play her own music, alongside covers, mostly as a solo act (using backing tracks), or as a duo with pianist.
In her life BC (before children), Avelia’s worked as a professional trumpet player included gigs, TV, radio, recording, and UK & international tours with artists such as Marti Webb & Jane MacDonald; and playing in the bands of many West End shows (including Jolson, Calamity Jane, Cats). She also performed under her own name playing both classical concerts (with brother Alvin Moisey) and jazz gigs (with Bruce Boardman).
