Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona to Persian parents, Joséphine’s musical influence came from Middle Eastern music and hip hop alike.
Joséphine grew up listening to world music, hip hop and blues ranging from Persian artist Moein, greats Etta James and Janis Joplin, to rap, most notably Eminem. The melting pot of influence served as the basis for her soul pop sound. Her self-released debut visual album Love Trap: The Story released in August 2017 has garnered over 125,000 streams to date and features on publications like GQ & High Snobiety to name a few. Joséphine’s sophomore EP Chasing High will be released Summer 2018.<br>
