Upbeat, down-home vibes for forward-thinking nostalgics who can’t help singing along. Hailing from rural North Carolina and living in urban Colorado, Alex Rhodes aims to write upbeat music with singable lyrics. He recently finished recording “Hometown Rootage” (2020 release) with Kieran Kelly (Angus & Julia Stone, Sufjan Stevens). Rhodes has been on the same stage as the likes of Andy Sydow, Bonnie and Taylor Sims, Shanna in a Dress, Antonio Lopez, Caitlin Cannon, Tim Ostdiek, Acoustic Syndicate and Jupiter Coyote. Rhodes writes songs for people to sing along with and adds catchy guitar and harmonica licks. This is what happens when you’re raised on folk music and your dad teaches you to play the guitar. "Break My Heart" is his latest release. "It's as 'country' as I get," he says. "I just hope people think it's fun and want to sing along."
