Lizbeth Román is a Puerto Rican independent queer artist whose authentic, bohemian, spiritual and poetic energy distinguishes her artistry.
Her passionate storytelling style is a mix of quotidian happenings full of slang and poetry. The musical concept that she cultivates is a fusion between theatrical performance and Caribbean, folk and alternative rhythms. She has performed locally in Puerto Rico and at festivals in Cuba (Caribbean Festival), New York, Philadelphia, Chile, Argentina, California, Texas (SXSW Festival), Utah (Sundance Festival) and others. In 2017, Lizbeth launched her first album titled La Otra Ruta recorded live in New York. Her artistic repertoire also includes writing, directing and presenting her original musical plays in Puerto Rico in addition to other countries. A bachelor's degree in arts focusing in theater and music, a master’s degree in comparative literature and her eagerness to visibilize the colonial realities experienced by being born and raised in Puerto Rico, as well as to her transfeminist political views, shapes her artwork.
Most of Lizbeth Román’s music is available on all digital platforms and YouTube.
