Mild Cartoon Violence is the new EP from South London's Jodie Abacus. The EP consists of 5 tracks, all written by Jodie and produced by the likes of Pomo, John Calvert (NAO, Ghostpoet) and Grades (Tinie Tempah, Khalid).
Speaking of the EP, Jodie says: “I called my EP Mild Cartoon Violence because I wanted it to capture the flavour of what goes on in my mind at any point in time when I write songs. I have an aggressive and playful approach towards everything I write within the creative process...I stand up, jump around and and get excited. I envision the past, the present and the future feel of the storyline like a movie in my head in a cartoonish way and then scrutinise and bash away heavily at anything that may not feel right. This EP is about the love, sex and torment.”
Jodie’s previous tracks ‘I’ll Be That Friend’ and ‘She’s In Love With The Weekend’, saw support at BBC Radio 2’s ‘A’ list, BBC 6Music, Radio 1 and 1xtra and he has been busy working with an impressive line up of artists, producers and writers, including Julio Bashmore, Tobias Jesso Jnr, Duke Dumont, Ariel Rechtshaid (Beyonce, Adele, HAIM), Rahki (Kendrick Lamar) and SOHN.
