In 2016, „Butter“ followed directly in Superegos footsteps. During that time Leyya established themselves as a great live band at european festivals like Reeperbahn, Eurosonic , The Great Escape, Electronic Beats, Primavera Sound, Sziget and Iceland Airwaves. In 2017, they won the Radio FM4 Award at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.
„Zoo“ (2017) was the kick-off to a new-era that mounted into the release of their sophomore album „Sauna“ (2018). The albums colourful, quirky sound was met with highest praise from the press, including journalistic heavyweights TIME and Der Spiegel. The duo went on to win another Amadeus Award in 2018 („Best Alternative“) and played a tour of 20+ countries including Mexico and the US and festivals like Benicássim, Nrmal and SXSW.
The iconic video for their hitsingle "Wannabe“ won them an UK Music Video Award as 'Best Newcomer' (2018).
While both Marco (Bilderbuch, Oehl) and Sophie (My Ugly Clementine) kept producing charting records, they took a break from the band for almost two years before getting back together to release "The Paper" in October 2020.
