Formerly of the alterna-folk-pop band Bright Red Boots, Emily has been playing solo since the band scattered to the four corners of the earth.
In the chaos of the current American horror show, Emily has returned to her dusty guitar and played the songs that make her feel better. Maybe they'll make you feel better too. While the last year has been a year of cover songs, maybe once the chaos eases up, Emily will be able to write songs again. When she does, inspiration comes from Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Elvis Costello, Patsy Cline, Rhett Miller (and the Old 97s,) ani difranco, Suzanne Vega, Neil Finn, Jonatha Brooke, Billy Bragg, India Arie, Hank Williams, Shawn Colvin, David Wilcox, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Sarah Vaughn, Rufus Wainwright, Patty Griffin, Janelle Monae and many more. She enjoys alliteration and plays a scratched up Seagull guitar named Nina.
