JEROM is a singer-songwriter born in 1981 in Aix-en-Provence in southern France.
Despite some Anglophone influences, such as Ben Howard, Ryan Adams, Frank Turner, Brian Fallon and Bon Iver, JEROM takes his roots in a pop-folk musical universe with lyrics in French.
A bassist between 2000 and 2008 in the rock band Fickle, produced by Murrayfield Music (Silmarils, Elmer Food Beat...) / distribution Warner Music, he comes back as a solo artist in May 2017 and releases his first studio album entitled “00001”.
An album title without artifice, in accordance with his artistic line, refined and mostly acoustic. ”00001” brings together nine tracks of which JEROM wrote all the texts and music.
Among the dominant themes of this opus, we find relationships, encounters and memories, topics dear to JEROM’s heart.
This album was created to be mostly acoustic. From his dreadnought guitar (« Où la route m’emmène » ; « Et si on… » ; « Toi, moi »), often supported by a bass (« De là-haut » ; « Là-bas - 1ère partie »), to electric guitars and drum rhythmics (« Avant que j'arrive » ; « Seul »), harmonica notes (« Là-Bas - 2ème partie »), and deep African percussions (« Si tu restes »), JEROM composes and plays almost all the instruments.
The album closes with the second part of the song « Là-bas », the end of which is a medley of all nine songs.
