Songwriter, singer, guitarist and sound manipulator, living in Toulouse, France, Michel Cloup has been active since the beginning of the 90s with, among others, Diabologum, Expérience.
He is known for an uncompromising and adventurous music with french lyrics. He has performed in Europe, the United States, Russia, on big festival stages, in tiny clubs, outdoors, in the basement, in theaters, art centers, and even once in a metal cupboard by Maurizio Cattelan in Beaubourg Museum.
He has multiplied collaborations in music, contemporary art, theater and cinema.
He plays now with Julien Rufié, a drummer also from Toulouse. They have released 2 albums together : « Ici et là-bas » (2016) & « Danser, danser, danser sur les ruines » (2019).
On the first two albums « Notre silence » (2011) & « Minuit dans tes bras » (2013) Michel was playing with the drummer Patrice Cartier.
The last album "À la ligne, chansons d'usine" is a collaboration with french singer and guitarist Pascal Bouaziz (Mendelson, Bruit Noir) based on the book "À la ligne" ("On the line") by Joseph Ponthus.
