MÂNĪ’s musical world is a dark one, a deep wall of sound that can take you to a state of trance or make you dance.
With a background in Jazz and Rock, MÂNĪ is no stranger to the world of complex musical structure, yet he focuses on the sound itself, on the colour of the soundscapes and the rhythms that are trying to tell a story or paint a picture. The electronic beats, analoge synth sounds and lyrical vocals make his music a unique mixture of pop and experimental music. Started in 2016, MÂNĪ is the solo project of the Iranian-German composer and visual-artist Misagh Azimi. His musical inspirations include many artists from different genres; artists like: Nine Inch Nails, Frank Zappa, Moderat, King Crimson, James Blake etc. The debut Single “Black Holes (feat. Maha Taheri)” was released on the 10th of December 2017 and was followed by the EP “VIER” in early 2018. A music video to “Black Holes” was released a week before the official release of the Single and received critical acclaim. The EP was produced by MÂNĪ himself in his studio in Essen, Germany and mastered at the Calyx Mastering Studios in Berlin. www.mani-music.com
