People Say I'm The Life Of The Party Cos I Tell A Joke Or Two
She Came Back From Yesterday
Deceptively ageing UK melodic punk/hardcore veteran Gary Yay strikes a curious proposition... he's played in numerous bands since the 00s such as Poindexter, Telegraphs, Eager Teeth, Summerslam 88 and Phinius Gage, but don't let that fool you; on his debut solo record When I Grow Up To Be A Man his influences are firmly entrenched in pop.
His solo material draws influence from 80s new wave, Lemonheads, Descendents, Weezer and Hüsker Dü and is entirely a non-profit venture (with all proceeds from the album going to MIND Charity (NAMH)). Now playing shows as a full band (Gary and the Yays), keep an eye out for one near you in the UK soon.
