Miami, FL-based rock quartet Palomino Blond sometimes sound evil, sometimes sound pretty, "but always feel like a head rush." (2020, The Alternative).
Guitarists/singers Carli Acosta and Kyle Fink, drummer Jake Karner, and bassist Raven Nieto shared a self-released demo EP early 2018. The collection of melodic guitar songs sweep the sounds of grunge, punk-pop, gothic rock, and shoegaze. February 2019 saw the release of the single "Creature Natural," with an accompanying music video from Jonathan and Michael Cuartas. March 2020, indie label BUFU Records (Tall Juan, Japanther, Degreaser, Mannequin Pussy) released the band's split EP with the like-minded Miami-based Las Nubes. Palomino Blond's side contains two live show staples, "Seventh Heaven" and "Damage," packing the heavy guitars, raw energy, and unbridled choruses that the band is so steadily building their name and reputation on. Both sides were recorded and mixed by Jonathan Nuñez (guitarist of Torche) and Mastered by Zach Weeks at Godcity Studios. The group has garnered glowing comparisons to such luminaries as The Smashing Pumpkins, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Sonic Youth, and The Breeders. Fiery and frequent live shows have led to Southeast U.S. support slots with Chastity Belt, A Place to Bury Strangers, Last Dinosaurs, Black Lips, Born Ruffians, Ceramic Animal, and The Pauses, as well as festival plays (The Fest, III Points, Sing Out Loud Fest, Bumblefest, Babefest, Pulp Fest).
