Miami, FL-based Palomino Blond sometimes sound evil, sometimes sound pretty, "but always feel like a head rush." (2020, The Alternative). Las Nubes / Palomino Blond 12" Split available on
Based around guitarists/vocalists Carli Acosta and Kyle Fink, Palomino Blond shared a self-released demo EP early 2018. The collection of melodic guitar songs sweep the sounds of dreamy shoegaze, heavy punk-pop, and gothic rock. March 2020, BUFU Records (Tall Juan, Japanther, Degreaser, Mannequin Pussy) released the band's split EP with Las Nubes, with Iggy Pop calling the bands "two of Miami's brightest lights," on BBC 6. Palomino Blond's side contains "Seventh Heaven" and "Damage," packing the heavy guitars, raw energy, and unbridled choruses the band is steadily building their reputation on. Both sides were recorded and mixed by Jonathan Nuñez (guitarist of Torche) and Mastered by Zach Weeks at Godcity Studios. The group has garnered glowing comparisons to such luminaries as The Smashing Pumpkins, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Sonic Youth, and The Breeders. Fiery and frequent live shows have led to Southeast U.S. support slots with Chastity Belt, Last Dinosaurs, Black Lips, Born Ruffians, A Place To Bury Strangers, LION BABE, and MIA GLADSTONE, as well as festival plays (III Points, Gainesville's The Fest, Sing Out Loud Festival, Mad Soul Fest, Pulp Fest, Bumble Fest).
