Georgetown is a South-African Blue-Billy-Folk-Pop band based in Pretoria, Gauteng. The founding members are Michael de Villiers, Renaldo van Dyk and Tiaan Erasmus.
The trio started writing and performing together in 2014. In 2015 Rynier Prins joined on Double bass and started touring with the band. Their focus shifted from covering contemporary songs in a Bluegrass style to writing original material. With quite a diverse blend of influences, their sound has something to offer for a variety of musical tastes. They play a blend of acoustic and electric instruments accompanied by vocal harmonies influenced by Southern American styles and jumble them up all together, effortlessly, into something authentic and unique.
