I was in a band in school (we supported Supergrass!!), then I moved to Brixton to go to audio engineering college.
I recorded ‘The Fountain’ with Echo & The Bunnymen (Ian McCulloch is as brilliant and as funny and as difficult as you would imagine) and music led me to NYC. I met someone and fell in love, and I knew I wanted to stay in the US. My visa got held up and in the end I was back in the UK.
It was tough having my plans upended and being separated from my (now) wife. I started writing songs about it. I played them to a sync contact I had and before long I was getting placements.
My visa came through and we moved back to the Hudson Valley. The syncs kept coming, and I started doing ads and movies and kids TV shows and all sorts of stuff. I also co-wrote Death Valley which was on LP’s Lost on You album.
Ricky Gervais was listening to an acoustic playlist while he was doing the second series of his Netflix show After Life and he ended up putting Little Piece Of Nothing & Silence in. After Life 2 has been massive, and I’m reaching a whole new audience. If that’s why you’re here, welcome! Send me a message. It's nice to know people are listening. PS I am no relation to the Wendy's guy.
