Rory McDonald started writing his own music in 2014 and released his first solo EP, “The Red King” mid 2017. Written in an alternative style with metal influences, “The Red King” EP was the birth of Lucifer Gunne’s dark and hard-hitting sound. His vocals take inspiration from Marilyn Manson, Kurt Cobain and Mike Patton, making Rory one of the most unique vocalists in the country. Rory recorded and distributed his EP at the age of 15, showing the young talent that is prevalent throughout the band.
After more than a year of gigging and recording, Lucifer Gunne are kicking things into gear for 2019, with plans to tour and release an album (or two!) later in the year. Their first single, “HRM”, mixes the old and new styles of the band; a concoction of the aggressive guitar riffs seen on the red king, as well as some new catchy melodies to get stuck in your head.
