Royal Yellow began as a result of Mark O'Brien's experimentation with electronic music, following the break-up of his previous band Enemies.
In 2018 O’Brien linked up with acclaimed Irish producer Bantum to create the debut single ‘Hazeldene’. It has since racked up over 1 million streams on Spotify and was featured in the BBC/Hulu series Normal People Official Soundtrack . In 2019 O’Brien worked with SENU to create follow-up ‘Aruba’.
Royal Yellow's third single 'May The First' was released on that same date in 2020. It features a pitched-down, trip-hop inspired vocal from Lisa Hannigan, and received its first broadcast on Annie Mac's 'Future Sounds' show on BBC Radio 1.
The artist is currently recording a body of work for release in 2020.
