Amandine Beyer is a French violinist. She started playing the violin and flute at four, and she attended the Paris Conservatoire, where she graduated in 1994 with the first prize in violin.
In 1995, she began studying Baroque violin with Chiara Banchini at the Schola Cantorum in Basel, and received her diploma in 1999. She also studied musicology, and wrote a thesis on the music of Karlheinz Stockhausen. A member of Ensemble 451 and La Capella Reial de Catalunya, among other period ensembles, Beyer has worked with Jordi Savall, Pablo Valetti, Jean Tubéry, Pierre Hantaï, and Edna Stern. Beyer succeeded Banchini as teacher of Baroque violin at the Schola Cantorum in Basel, and teaches at the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts in Porto, Portugal. She has recorded for Harmonia Mundi, Glossa, Zig-Zag Territoires, and Mirare.
