Allthough the name Violet Cheri goes all the way back to lead singer Daniel Hoffs childhood in Sölvesborg in south of Sweden, the band started off for real when he met drummer Melker Höckert at Emmabodafestivalen in 2013 and moved to Stockholm shortly after.
In Stockholm Kimie Valentin (Guitar/backing vocals) and Johannes Gudding (Bass) joined the band and in 2015 they released Youth - EP. Simon Bengtsson (Guitar) joined shortly after the release as the band started playing live. In 2017 Johannes left the band and Robin Wiksander (Sällskapsresan) joined on bass. The single "I'll Always Be Alone" was released in November same year.
In the beginning of 2019 guitarist Simon left the band and was replaced by Hugo Wiggman a few months later. The recording of Violet Cheris debute album was finished during the year and the first single Scared to be happy is released on december 14th.
