Named after the popular board game, Parchís was an immensely popular teen pop group formed in Spain in 1979.
The group reached the height of their powers in the '80s, releasing 20 EPs and LPs by 1985. In 1983, the group released a movie, entitled Parchís Entra en Accion. While the band remained popular enough to enter the larger cultural consciousness (they even managed to reunite a number of times in the '90s and 2000s), mega-powerhouse Latin teen pop groups such as Menudo, coupled with lineup changes in Parchís, forced the break up of the group. 2008 would see another of said reunions, the first of which that featured all the original members shared a stage since the '80s. ~ Chris True, Rovi
