Zambian-born, Botswana-raised and Johannesburg-based Moonga K. is accompanied by an ageless soul and a fresh, international perspective.
His crystal vocals cut through an industry of complacency with soft, striking introspection, atop authentic instrumentation and jagged production. After successfully releasing his debut EP “Free” (selected for the Apple Music New Artist Spotlight), Moonga K. returns with debut full-length effort “Wild Solace”. Marrying the smooth musings of traditional and modern RnB with a razor-edge, electronic outline – an alternative and wholly unique offering announces his effervescent presence with pure soul. Produced by SAMA winner Greg Carlin, and childhood friend Andrew Williams, “Wild Solace” sways from indie rock rhythms to soulful piano drama. The opening track “Walking Emojis” is a war cry for the millennial youth, and features newcomer Tazz on the mic. Lead single “Let Go” is an uplifting alt-pop anthem ready with crowd chants and cutting synths, whilst “Little Wreck” sees Moonga battle his demons with just a piano for support. “Wild Solace” is the journey of a millennial soul, from childhood to early adulthood, erupting with joy, love, pain and fear - something to which we all can relate.
