The Spanish duo Band à Part formed in the late 2000s and quickly signed up with their country's finest indie pop label, Elefant.
Named after the 1964 film by Jean-Luc Godard and inspired by the bouncy, sweetly sung music of many bands on their label, plus groups like Acid House Kings and the Aislers Set, Javier and Coral first appeared on record with the "No Sé Por Qué" single in 2010. They followed it up the next year with another single, "Una Persona Normal con Gafas de Metal." After a slow 2012 with only one song ("Cascabel") appearing on the compilation It's the Taking Part That Counts from the Where It's at Is Where You Are label and another ("Donde Todo Sigue Igual") appearing on their label's 2012 holiday album A Christmas Gift for You from Elefant Records, the group resurfaced in early 2013 with the six-song mini-album La Aventura Original. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
