Brought up in Saukville, Wisconsin, Patrick was always the artistic one in his social group. “My friends and I were all athletes and sports were our lives, but I was always that kid in my friend group who loved art and music just as much.” He laughs, “I would do all of my friends’ art projects for them because they hated it and I loved it.” “Creating in any form has always been my bliss.”
Debut single ‘Cinema Love’ was a dynamic, endearing intro, a kind of final farewell to the salad days of a pivotal relationship. It was followed by the darkening cloud of ‘Stranger Nights’, a tale of curb-crawling around a university town.
A sense of connection is what pushes Patrick Martin forwards. New single ‘Both Of You’ kicks off a partnership with British producer Kid Harpoon (Florence + The Machine, Harry Styles), it adds a punk edge, a sense of Joe Strummer’s righteous fury. Blessed with a Springsteen-esque vocal, it’s about betrayal, from the point of view of the person left behind.
