From Rap to R&B, music always crept in from the block, the passing cars, and the radio to his young ears. KIU was born in Harlem, NY. Growing up in Bushwick (Brooklyn) and later on, in North Philadelphia, The poverty and pain that he found himself surrounded by forced him to grow up faster and in the midst of all his adversities, he found music. , KIU aimed to make a mark on the culture of Hip-Hop and beyond. He became KIU in 2016 when he emerged with a number of independent singles. His prolific output switched between modern luxury hip-hop anthems and ‘hood street tales of getting money and street life, a reality for many youngsters. He is gradually gaining a significant following through word of mouth and exposure from music and lifestyle publications. In 2017, his career really picked up with cuts like “Right Back” and "Corner Store," which were among his most popular recordings to that point, along with his debut project “Winners Worry About Winning
”. KIU is completely independent, studying the sonics of music and the business of the music industry as he continues to climb the Hip Hop food chain.
