Following this successful release,
Roisin graced the stages with notable performances around Ireland, including
music festivals Body & Soul, Electric Picnic, and Sea Sessions.
In 2018, Roisin's EP ‘Glass House’, a mixture of ambient pop and haunting vocals, was well received. Citing Florence & the Machine, Stevie Nicks, Daughter, and Tracy Chapman as influences and a background in film production, Roisin has built a distinctive visual style to go with her ethereal sound, drawing on mythology and magic.
Set to release her anticipated new single on June 12th 2020, ‘Cross Your Mind’ depicts that “Sometimes the most hurtful place is your mind."
"On the surface, Glass House is full of gripping lyrics and irresistible pop melodies. Underneath El Cherif's warm vocal, there's something much more tribal. There is an experimental, atmospheric quality to the EP. Glass House drifts effortlessly between heavily grounded and ethereal, but for all its differing genres, El Cherif fuses everything brilliantly."
“‘Kerosene’, the 2016 debut single from singer/songwriter Roisin El Cherif, signalled the arrival of someone special. Rich in textures, melody and moods, the brooding effort earned her plenty of acclaim."
Golden Plec -
“Roisin El Cherif is one of the new breed of Irish singer-songwriters coming to the fore.”
