Nothing breaks a stage down quite like some brazen and well-delivered garage rock. The apparent masterplan for The Desmonds was born from the mind of founder Rob Schoenmakers and, with the help of close friends and a willful mix of surf, 90s Britpop and post-punk, quickly unfolded to become an unmistakable staple in the local music scene of Groningen, the Netherlands.
The biggest of influences were found close by, in the legendary underground venue VERA. That's why bands like Together Pangea, Mike Krol and Canshaker Pi have all found their way into the essence of the 2019 singles 'Outcast' and 'Female Fronted Starlight Rangers'.
Creating irresistible hooks in a pool of raw energy is where The Desmonds play their game, and they're far from done playing. This is just a hint of what the band is cooking up for 2020.
