After 12 years of self promoting her music, doing local artist showcases, and trying out for both American Idol and X Factor, Yalissa "Jewels" Lopez from Bronx, NY, finally decided to focus all of her time and energy into studying music production, and ghostwriting for other independent music artists.
During the Summer of 2019 she signed her first record deal with MVB RECORDS, after Sosa (Abdel Russell) discovered her on instagram. Once signed, she immediately started recording new music at Quad Studios in NY, and released her first official single "Fallin", in September of that same year. Jewels' music exposes the raw sensitivity of women, and shows how people who are in love are willing to take risks in the name of love. Jewels released her 'official' debut album "Fever" in the Summer of 2020, which went viral, and catapulted her career worldwide. In September 2020 she partnered with Billboard Chart topping artist; and label mate, Trabass, and released two remixes to one of her songs off her "Fever" album. She also started her own entertainment company; Gem Squad Productions, in 2020.
