Also into visual arts, Tess got a degree in graphic design and worked in the field for a few years before taking the plunge into full-time music making. After saving some money and writing a song out of sheer boredom on a slow day at work, she decided to take a few months off to drive around the country accompanied by only her guitar. Succumbing to her first bout of extreme wanderlust led to more traveling, writing, and exploring, until she was eventually able to book her first of many tours, and continued to develop artistically.
Miss Tess eventually moved to Boston for a brief stint at Berklee School of Music, and ended up flourishing in the roots music scene in Cambridge. She released three full-length albums to critical acclaim and started her full-time touring career. Next she moved to Brooklyn, put out three more albums on Signature Sounds, moved to Nashville and has just released Baby, We All Know, another testament to her eclectic rootsy nature.
