Born on Highway 30 along the Emerald Coast near the Gulf of Mexico, and raised on the road across two continents, Samuel Taylor and Rebecca Van Cleave’s Ophelia charts a journey of love, life, loss, past, and present with evocative melodies and sizzling songwriting chemistry.
Calling in prized musicians such as David Glover, producer and drummer Greg Haver (of Manic Street Preachers and Super Furry Animals fame), and Grammy-Nominated Nashville fiddle player Eamon McLoughlin, the pair set about making their debut album in the summer of 2016. Tracks were also recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles bringing in heavyweight players like Neilson Hubbard and Bill Lefler. The album was mixed by Clint Murphy and mastered by Sterling Sound’s Ryan Smith (who also worked on albums by Adele, Beyonce, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and James Taylor).
A transatlantic band of vagabonds, Ophelia captures a sound reminiscent of the days of Buckingham and Nicks, with a modern twist.
