Rhymer/Educator is an Indiana-based hip-hop artist and high school teacher who uses lyrical storytelling to cope with the world.
R/E's music serves as a platform for truth, love, and conversation. In 2018, Rhymer/Educator (Joe Ruiz), released his debut LP, "The Rhymer/Educator Project."
The success of the album landed R/E support slots with Vanilla Ice, MAX and Pitbull . The album featured Alternative R&B artist theMIND, whose resume includes work with Noname, Chance the Rapper, Saba, and Mick Jenkins, as well as reputable New York-based MC, Nitty Scott. The track 'Meant for More' with WittiestMC was featured on New Music Friday a playlist on Spotify.
Rhymer/Educator then released two subsequent EP's, Extra Credit and Natural Writes (with WittiestMC as co-artist), which were released in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
On May, 28th, 2020, Rhymer/Educator then released an experimental mixtape titled, "Quentin Quarantino: A COVID-19 Story," with trevorindigo of The Erly.
Also in 2020, Natural Writes, Rhymer/Educator's collaborative project with WittiestMC saw the sequel, Positive Electric.
Up next? R/E and his brother Dealeus release a one-of-a-kind collaboration with heavyweight lyricist and long-time collaborator of Jon Bellion, B.Keyz. The single, Lights Out, will be released on October 30, 2020.
