Leah Capelle, a stunningly talented alt/pop/rocker from Chicago, has been performing & studying music from a young age.
She attended Berklee before moving to LA to pursue music full-time, and studies at Thornton at USC. She partnered w/ Grammy winning producer Jeff Bova (Album of the Year, Celine Dion) to release her self-titled EP in '15. Joshua is her 2nd EP with Bova. Skope says: "Capelle encompasses vast musically imaginative worlds in this trio of songs thanks to two crucial factors above all others–the songwriting talent involved and, naturally, her vocal quality. Though she has technique to burn thanks to a stellar musical education and background, Capelle doesn’t sing like a technician. She has a freshness and spontaneity capable of capturing the spirit of any song with skill and grace. Capelle is a rare talent." Capelle says about the making of Joshua: "This new album has been such a journey. We went into the studio with the intent to record an EP. As we developed and grew with the songs, I continued to write. I just recorded four brand new songs." The 1st single Better Off a moving ballad performed live in the studio. Leah says, "My new song is, at its core, a piece about letting go. When you know something is unhealthy, or not bringing you joy no matter how much you wish it would, there is strength in being able to say that that thing-be it a situation, a place, or a person-cannot hold you back. This is a song about strength even when strength is the last option."
