Strong female vocals garnished by multi-instrumentalist in the rhythm and horn sections serve as catalysts for Oracle Blue to embody genre-bending.
Under the banners of Swank-Pop and Alt-Jazz they craft a realm entirely their own. Whether playing jazz standards at the ritziest to-do’s, crooning buttery R&B jams, or testing the edges of their millennial angst, Oracle Blue is always finds a home. Gilded Kingdoms, the debut album of the Carolina-based band showcases this blurring of lines with a slew of original songs and two re-imagined jazz standards.
While the band is still in its infancy, it’s members have been long-time collaborators of 4-10 years. The bulk of the group found each other in the halls of academia while pursuing music degrees at Coastal Carolina University. During their time as students they received a DownBeat Student Music Award and embarked on a European tour with performances at Montreux, Umbria and Vienne jazz festivals. This venture marked the end of their time as students, thus the group was reincarnated as Oracle Blue. In February of 2018 Oracle Blue was selected by Lalah Hathaway to open for her "Honestly" tour at Levine Center for the Arts (Charlotte, NC) and at The Cone Denim Entertainment Center (Greensboro, NC).
With the release of their first album they are planning tour dates from the Southeast to the Midwest United States, and are already looking at international performances for the summer of 2019.<br>
