Reme is the name of a Spanish aupair who moved to the 70s London of Wings’ ‘Band of the Run’, Elton John's ‘Honkey Chateau’ and Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. Forty years later, her son made the same trip to the UK, seeking the echoes of Jeff Lyne and Marc Bolan. The quartet recorded its debut album with Manuel Cabezalí (Havalina) and Víctor Cabezuelo (Rufus T. Firefly) as producers, while Dany Richter (Christina Rosenvinge) and Iain Berryman (Arcade Fire) engineered a recording process split between Madrid and London.
Royal Cape, Reme's first single, was featured on Radio 3's Best Songs of 2020. The band's sound has been linked to the same of George Harrison, T-Rex, Foxygen, The Divine Comedy and the latest Arctic Monkeys.
