Gazelle Twin is the project of electronic producer, composer, and artist Elizabeth Bernholz. Based in Brighton, England, she is part of the Anti-Ghost Moon Ray arts collective, which also operates as a label and blog.
Her avant-garde, industrial-leaning songs have a decidedly gothic bent, which she introduced on her critically acclaimed 2011 debut, The Entire City. Following a 2012 remix collection, she issued her follow-up EP, Mammal, in 2013 and began to transition into more live performances. Leading up to the release of her second LP, she released a series of singles with accompanying videos complementing her dark, dramatic music. Unflesh arrived in September 2014. The soundtrack to a short film by animator/director Carla MacKinnon, Out of Body followed in March 2016. Later that year, Fleshed Out offered remixes of tracks from Unflesh by acts including Blanck Mass, Dave Clarke, Perc, and Wrangler. Gazelle Twin returned in late 2017 with the studio album Kingdom Come, an album based on Bernholz and her husband, Jez, A/V installation for the Future Everything Festival in 2016. Bernholz returned to the studio to record what would be her fifth studio album. The resulting Pastoral saw her taking inspiration from British folklore while exploring the darkness behind the quaint and idyllic. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
